The expedition
Overview
A journey that keeps you in touch with the wild east: Dibrugarh → Aalo → Mechuka → Roing → Anini → Dibrugarh — 9 stages and about 1,350 km.
Tour leader: a Hindi- and English-speaking motorcycle tour leader supervises the trip — a seasoned rider and traveller and an expert on the destination, who will make your adventure unforgettable in complete safety.
Level — intermediate: we ride mainly on small secondary roads. Stages of 6–7 hours are repeated every day, so good physical fitness is a must. Most of the riding is on tarmac, with no off-road sections on this journey.
Meal plan — half board: breakfast and dinner (pure veg) are included; lunch is at your own expense.
Important: this trip includes a few long stages. First aid and transfer to the nearest medical centre are provided by our support vehicle, as helicopters and ambulances are rarely available. Phone coverage is limited and satellite phones are restricted, so contacting emergency services can be difficult. As on any mountain route, road quality and difficulty depend heavily on current and recent weather.
